A joint project of PCIDs, GDOT, SRTA, Dunwoody and DeKalb County.

The Perimeter Community Improvement Districts initiated the $6 million Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI) at I-285 and Ashford Dunwoody Road as an interim solution to improve traffic congestion and safety at a major gateway into Perimeter, Georgia’s corporate center.

The DDI is a proven, low cost design that provides immediate congestion relief and safety benefits. This innovative design shifts the flow of traffic to the opposite side of the road to reduce points of traffic conflict. While traffic studies won’t be completed until Spring 2013, early reports and commuter feedback indicate that congestion and accidents are improving.

Crossover of traffic: June 2012; Project Dedication: November 2012.
